Yvonne and Doug {Holga Photography} Glen Echo & Washington DC

This year has been awesome in terms of my wedding clients wanting Holga photography as part of their photography packages.

When Yvonne and Doug had their engagement photo shoot on the Mall in Washington DC, I knew I had to whip out the Holga at least a couple times.
Then of course the wedding at Glen Echo just screams for Holga!!

Here are my three favorite from both the engagement and wedding.

  2. Hey Dave,
I am using Kodak Portra 400. It's my go-to film!!

  3. Thanks Sarah!
I've been discovering the joys of the Portra too! It's interesting, I second shot a wedding with a colleague and he let me have free rein, digital and Holga. Using Holgas, I did a roll of B&W and a roll of Portra. Out of the 1000+ files we delivered, guess which ones impressed the bride and groom the most!

  4. No problem Dave. It's always fun to talk Holga shop with folks! I was told that you can push Portra 400 to act like 800 or higher. I am going to try that soon. I'll let you know what the results look like. :)

  5. I pushed it to 1600 with straight developing (I told the lab nothing. In fact, it was just Walgreens 1hr processing) no worries. I have 2 rolls out to get pushed 2 or 3 stops to 3200, we'll see how that goes. I'm trying it at 3200 based on Jonathan Canlas' recommendation.
