Final Bluebird Update!
I know what it means when people say they have "empty nest syndrome"!
All my babies have fledged as of 3pm on May 28th!
I was fortunate enough to see one baby fly from the box and onto the roof of my cottage on the 27th, but that is the only one I saw.
I could kick myself for running a quick errand (ironically to the bird store) that afternoon after seeing at least one baby still in the nest, because when I returned.... all were gone!
I am excited and sad now that they have all flown away.
Of course I am so excited that all the babies survived and have gone on to create more wonderful bluebird families. But sad because I will miss having all the activity in my backyard.
I will hold out hope for a second brood.
